Financial Information

In fiscal year 2011, you made it possible for Dreams Work to do outreach projects in various communities in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. One example was the two events we did in the Benning Terrace Community. We held a Back to School Event and offered Free Hair Cuts for children and we were able to give away Thanksgiving Baskets to 100 Families During this year we were also able to start programs at Ballou High School and Sasha Bruce.

In fiscal year 2012, you made it possible for Dreams Work to enhance the quality of services we offered in the community. We were able to teach youth to use the arts as a way to communicate their feelings, or important information to their peers about dangerous behaviors like drugs and also we were able to work with our students throughout the region to produce a anti-bullying movie funded by the United Way called Strings Dream Which led to our participation in a panel facilitated by the office of Congress Woman Sheila Jackson Lee at the CBCF ALC

In fiscal year 2013, you made it possible for Dreams Work to enhance our work in each of our sites and also expand our work through a Partnership with the YMCA of DC We also were able to start a program called Uncomfortable Conversations that highlighted the issue of Domestic and Teen Dating Violence and the impact this issue has on our community. We Held events with Elected Officials from the State and County Level, Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown and Prince George’s County States Attorney Angela Alsobrooks

In fiscal year 2014, you made it possible for Dreams Work to expand the work of our organization; fighting the cradle to prison pipeline through designing a afterschool program that focuses on preventing youth from participating in risky behaviors though targeting elementary and middle schools and using the arts to help improve math and reading comprehension skills. This Program was called the 21st Century Learning HUB and was funded through the U.S. Department of Education through the Maryland Department of Education. We were able to serve over 200 youth at 3 Schools.

In fiscal year 2017, you made it possible for expand our mission and vision to recruiting a new leadership team that would focus our efforts on the entire community and not just youth. Our focus this year has been once again designing creative community programs that impact major issues. Our target is now impacting unemployment and under-employment through entrepreneur development. The organization Partnered with Community of Hope AME Church to create a fair and pitch contest for their businesses and give a $1000 prize to the winner.
