Hope In Action: Youth & Violence Intervention Services

Overview
Hope In Action is COWOC’s clinically guided initiative designed to reduce youth recidivism and community violence through therapeutic counseling, life coaching, and structured wraparound services. This page details our Diversion & Reentry Services, Violence Intervention Program, and Community Wraparound Model.
Juvenile Diversion & Reentry Services
Target Group: Youth ages 12–18, first-time and reoccurring non-adjudicated offenders
Partnership: In collaboration with the State’s Attorney’s Office
Program Tracks:
  • Urban Youth Pretrial Diversion Academy (Ages 12–16)
  • Duration: 90 days
  • Focus: Behavior modification, counseling, psychosocial support
Key Services:
  • Individual Counseling (CBT, motivational interviewing, etc.)
  • Life Coaching (clinically supervised)
  • Case Management & Family Engagement
  • Optional Group Therapy
Violence Intervention (VI) Program
Target Group: High-risk individuals in violent-prone communities
Structure: Strictly clinical and therapeutic support
Core Services:
  • Individual Clinical Counseling (CBT, trauma-informed, anger management)
  • Conflict Resolution Counseling & Case Management
  • Youth Mentorship & Outreach (emotion regulation, alternatives to violence)
  • Resource Navigation (mental health, substance abuse, vocational training)
Safety Measures:
  • Licensed clinical supervision
  • Controlled environments
  • Background-checked staff
  • Routine risk assessments and reporting
Community & School-Based Wraparound Services
An integrated system to holistically support youth and justice-involved individuals both in school and in the community.
Confirmed Services Include:
  • After-School Enrichment (academic + emotional support)
  • Food Insecurity Support (basic needs stabilization)
  • Mentoring & Peer Support Groups (emotional safety, conflict resolution)
  • Creative Expression Therapy (art-based emotional processing)
  • 12-Month Case Management (individualized care planning)
Program Goals
  • Interrupt cycles of recidivism and violence
  • Build coping, emotional regulation, and pro-social behavior
  • Reinforce family and support systems
  • Promote long-term community reintegration and stability
Note: Hope In Action is a domestically focused program—we do not facilitate or coordinate any international travel or operations.
